The American National Association for Bikers with a Disability (ANABD) is a registered charity dedicated to giving disabled people full and independent access to the freedom of motorcycling. Newly formed in 2009, the ANABD's mission is to help disabled people to enjoy the independence of riding motorcycles they own, and/or 3 and 4 wheel trikes, using a wide range of mechanical and electrical adaptions developed by or for the ANABD.
In addition to the development of special adaptions the ANABD operates a system of financial grants to help individuals with the cost of these adaptions. Individual grants range from $50.00 to $4,000.00 (the maximum individual grant at present). Monies for these grants are achieved through funds raised by Business Affiliations, Club Affiliations, Memberships and various methods of direct fundraising such as ANABD rallies and social events.
Other aspects of the ANABD will include; a full color bi-annual online magazine featuring articles on specific adaption cases and other related news, and a network of information and advice available for state events.
The ANABD is a voluntary organization with only two to three paid employees. All other positions are on a volunteer basis.
By affiliating to the ANABD your business could be instrumental in helping many more disabled people to regain their freedom and independence and in many cases to reclaim their lifestyle. This is truly throttle therapy with an attitude adjustment.

THROTTLE THERAPY FOR AN ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT
The ANABD is a Registered Charity (registered Charity Number FEIN 90-0444721), open to anyone with an interest in motorcycling. Our aim is to help disabled people enjoy independent motorcycling; however they came by their disability, whether by accident, through illness, or from birth. There is a common misconception that you have to be disabled to join the ANABD. This could not be further from the truth - we welcome, and rely upon, able bodied people to help carry out our aims, of assisting Disabled Bikers to get on the road under their own steam.
